Hi, I am Leanne Henley and I am the owner and instructor at Life Skills First Aid.
I am a training partner with the Red Cross and have taught courses in British Columbia and Alberta for over 20 years. Recently, I spent 5 years in remote communities in Northern BC, where I was able to train people who would have otherwise had to travel long distances to become certified in first aid. I quickly realized the need for first aid training not only in the workplace but in our everyday life. I grew up in Shawnigan Lake and I have now moved back to Duncan, BC on Vancouver Island and I am so excited to be able to offer Red Cross First Aid and CPR courses to the area that means so much to me.
I have taken A LOT of first aid and first aid related courses over the past 20 years, and I can say from experience there have been some really amazing ones and some not so amazing (never going to get those 8 hours back!). I know how important your times is and I strive to make all my classes not only educational but FUN, and enjoyable for all participants.
I believe in having fun and learning in a safe, professional and welcoming environment. I want to prepare participants to react confidently in any first aid situation. I use quality equipment, real life scenarios and a variety of teaching techniques to keep the class engaging and relevant.
My background as a Red Cross Instructor, Lifeguard and Mother to two energetic kids (and 1 fur baby) has really propelled my passion for educating people on the importance of first aid and CPR…it is not just training, it is a LIFE SKILL.
